John Ssali

An Agri-finance and banking professional with great experience in consulting for financial institutions and designing/executing specialist Agri-training programs.


Agri-lending expert with over 18 years’ commercial banks and non-bank financial institution experience.  Started his banking career with the Agri-finance group at Centenary Bank and worked as Manager Credit Agricultural Lending at PRIDE Microfinance.  Joined the F4A team to lead the AgriFinance (U) programme and supported over 14 FIs in Uganda and other countries in East and Southern Africa, strengthening their agri-finance departments. In-depth knowledge of credit/risk, financial and agriculture Value Chain Studies and analysis.

Led the design and blueprinting of FACTS as Kenya’s first Supply Chain Finance company in Uganda.  Has executed agri-finance consultancy projects for KfW, USAID and IFC /World bank.   Presently working with Moving Frontiers on Aceli Africa capacity building for financial institutions.  Solid experience in training curriculum development and delivery of agricultural lending training.
