Senior banking professional, investor, entrepreneur, and agri-finance specialist.  Started his career with ABN AMRO Bank in the 1980s and worked for the bank in various executive banking roles throughout Asia Pacific, North and South America as well as Europe.  Joined Rabobank as CEO of Banco Terra in Mozambique, and later moved to Malawi to execute an IFC-sponsored SME Programme for First Merchant Bank, followed by a similar assignment for Bank of Africa in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Manager of the Finance4Agriculture (F4A) and Agri-financing (Uganda) programmes. Co-founder of FACTS Africa as an innovative and fast-growing finance company that provides short-term working capital to SMEs. Creator of the IGNITE MY SME initiative.  At present serving as team leader of KIEP 250+, Kenya’s largest private sector support programme for SMEs.

Agri-lending and training expert with over 10 years’ commercial banks and non-bank financial institution experience.  Worked for Equity Bank and was part of the team that built the Chase Bank Agri-banking franchise.  Joined the F4A team as Manager Agri-Finance solutions and supported over 20 banks and MFIs in Kenya and Uganda, strengthening their agri-finance departments.  In-depth knowledge of credit/risk, financial and business analysis. Helped design, start and accelerate FACTS as Kenya’s first Supply Chain Finance company focusing on agriculture. Has over 11 years’ experience working with - and financing - SMEs, producer organizations and other stakeholders in the agriculture value chains.  Moved on to pursue consultancy assignments, a.o. for Global Communities and Moving Frontiers.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a unique ability to communicate and connect with very diverse audiences.

Agri-lending expert with over 18 years’ commercial banks and non-bank financial institution experience.  Started his banking career with the Agri-finance group at Centenary Bank and worked as Manager Credit Agricultural Lending at PRIDE Microfinance.  Joined the F4A team to lead the AgriFinance (U) programme and supported over 14 FIs in Uganda and other countries in East and Southern Africa, strengthening their agri-finance departments. In-depth knowledge of credit/risk, financial and agriculture Value Chain Studies and analysis. Led the design and blueprinting of FACTS as Kenya’s first Supply Chain Finance company in Uganda.  Has executed agri-finance consultancy projects for KfW, USAID and IFC /World bank.   Presently working with Moving Frontiers on Aceli Africa capacity building for financial institutions.  Solid experience in training curriculum development and delivery of agricultural lending training.
